iPhone Fold 2026

Apple is reportedly preparing to enter the foldable smartphone market with its first-ever foldable device, the iPhone Fold. While Apple hasn’t officially confirmed this, leaks and rumors suggest that the iPhone Fold will make its debut alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026. Here’s a closer look at what we can expect from Apple’s upcoming foldable phone.

Design and Display: A Book-Style Foldable

The iPhone Fold is expected to feature a book-style design, similar to other foldable phones on the market. When unfolded, it will have a 7.6 to 7.8-inch internal display, providing a large, immersive screen for various applications. For more compact use, the device will offer a 5.3 to 5.5-inch external screen, allowing users to interact with notifications and apps without having to open the phone.

Camera System: Dual 48MP Rear Cameras

Leaks suggest that the iPhone Fold will come with a dual rear camera setup, each sporting 48MP sensors, enabling high-quality photography and video capture. Additionally, the front-facing camera will be 18MP, ensuring clear selfies and video calls. These advanced camera specs are in line with Apple’s commitment to enhancing the photographic capabilities of its flagship devices.

Performance: A20 Pro Chip and 12GB of RAM

Powering the iPhone Fold will be Apple’s A20 Pro chip, which is expected to be built on a 2nm process. The chip will likely provide significant performance improvements in speed and efficiency. Additionally, the iPhone Fold will come with 12GB of RAM, ensuring smooth multitasking and seamless performance when handling demanding apps and tasks.

Specialized Hinge Mechanism: Eliminating Display Crease

One of the challenges with foldable smartphones has been the visible crease on the display, but Apple is reportedly addressing this with a specialized hinge mechanism. The company is also said to be using “liquid metal” components, which will help eliminate the display crease, creating a more seamless folding experience.

Launch Timeline: September 2026

The iPhone Fold is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026. Following the official announcement, the device is likely to be available in select markets shortly thereafter. In the Philippines, the iPhone Fold could arrive a few days later through local telecommunications providers.

With rumors of a new chip, innovative camera upgrades, and a new folding design, the iPhone Fold could be Apple’s most exciting release in 2026. While there is still much to learn about the device, Apple’s entry into the foldable market is sure to turn heads and create even more competition for existing foldable devices. Stay tuned for more official announcements as we approach the launch date!
