Huawei Spring Festival update

Huawei has rolled out a festive software upgrade to mark the 2026 Lunar New Year, introducing new personalization tools, camera enhancements, and smart features across select devices. The Huawei Spring Festival update is designed to celebrate the holiday season while adding practical improvements to everyday smartphone use.

The update focuses heavily on customization and photography. One of its standout additions is a limited-time Lunar New Year camera watermark, allowing users to add festive branding to their photos. The watermark will remain available until March 8, 2026, and users can adjust both text and background colors to suit their preferences.

Festive camera features headline the Huawei Spring Festival update

The camera experience receives several seasonal upgrades in the Huawei Spring Festival update. Users will find a new Year of the Horse signature option, complete with celebratory designs and themed greetings. Huawei has also introduced additional theme modules that allow deeper personalization across the interface.

Alongside festive visuals, the update enhances the XMAGE camera system with a refined color palette. Eight built-in photo styles are included, with extra options for color customization, giving users more creative control when capturing images.

AI editing and smart call summaries arrive

The Gallery app now includes an AI-powered editing tool that lets users replicate photo styles with a single tap. This feature simplifies photo enhancement and encourages quick experimentation without manual adjustments.

Another practical addition in the Huawei Spring Festival update is call summary support. The phone app can now generate summaries of conversations, allowing users to review key details later directly from the call log. This feature is especially useful for remembering important discussions without taking notes.

Everyday improvements beyond photography

Huawei has also added smarter location tracking for parked vehicles. Devices can now automatically remember parking floor numbers and exact locations in underground garages, making it easier to find your car later.

Audio performance receives a boost through NearLink technology, which enables high-quality sound output with lower latency and stronger resistance to interference. This upgrade benefits users who rely on wireless audio accessories for calls, music, or video.

During the Spring Festival period, Huawei Share gains a celebratory touch as well. Tap to Share and Air Transfer now feature a fireworks animation, adding a festive visual effect when sharing files.

Devices receiving the update

The Huawei Spring Festival update is being delivered with HarmonyOS 6 build version 6.0.0.130. The rollout begins with newer flagship models, including the Huawei Mate 80 series and the Pura 80 lineup.

Huawei has confirmed that the update will expand to additional devices over time, bringing the seasonal features and system improvements to a wider range of users.

With its mix of festive customization and functional upgrades, the Huawei Spring Festival update reflects the company’s ongoing focus on blending cultural moments with practical innovation.
