In celebration of Safer Internet Day on February 10, 2026, Samsung UK, in partnership with Internet Matters, hosted an exclusive online safety workshop at Samsung KX for students from Frank Barnes School for Deaf Children. The workshop’s focus was on educating families about the safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI), highlighting both its potential and the importance of digital safety.
The event brought together students, parents, and educators to explore how AI technologies work, while also learning strategies for using them in a safe, human-centered way. This initiative is part of Samsung’s ongoing efforts to foster safe online practices, especially as AI becomes more embedded in the lives of young learners.
Engaging Families in AI Education
Jessie Soohyun Park, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Samsung UK, emphasized the relevance of the workshop’s theme—”smart tech, safe choices.” With AI becoming increasingly integrated into education and daily activities, Samsung is committed to helping parents and educators navigate the complexities of AI use.
Positive Impact on Families and Educators
Dani Sive, Headteacher at Frank Barnes School, shared her excitement about the workshop, noting that both children and families had an engaging and informative experience. The students explored AI, Samsung’s smart devices, and learned about the importance of using technology safely.
Collaborating to Keep Children Safe Online
Rachel Huggins, CEO of Internet Matters, stressed the importance of teaching children how to use AI tools responsibly, especially as they increasingly rely on AI for schoolwork and daily tasks. Through their ongoing partnership, Samsung and Internet Matters continue to provide valuable resources that help parents support their children’s online safety.
Samsung’s ongoing collaboration with Internet Matters, dating back to 2019, has been instrumental in shaping their Online Together Project. This initiative provides interactive tools to foster conversations about online safety, tackling key topics like AI, online hate, and gender stereotypes.
Future of AI and Online Safety
Samsung remains dedicated to empowering parents and guardians with the knowledge they need to protect their families in the digital age. As AI continues to evolve, workshops like these are key in ensuring that technology remains a tool for positive, safe experiences for all users.
