Shangjie 20,000 deliveries

Shangjie, the automotive brand created by Huawei and SAIC Motor, has reached an impressive milestone of 20,000 deliveries for its H5 SUV, just 78 days after the vehicle’s market debut. The news was revealed during a live video event for Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA) business.

This success is particularly notable as the H5 has become the most affordable vehicle within Huawei’s HIMA umbrella, priced starting at RMB 159,800 ($22,620). The H5 offers both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options, catering to the growing demand for eco-friendly transportation.

Plans for New Models in 2026

Looking ahead, Shangjie is set to launch at least two new models in 2026, one of which will be a premium coupe. This new model is expected to compete with popular European brands, with a projected price of around RMB 1 million. The coupe is slated for debut in spring 2026. Additionally, Shangjie will continue to enhance its SUV lineup, which remains a key focus for the brand’s future growth.

According to Richard Yu, Huawei’s executive director, the next models will be based on the latest innovations, further solidifying the brand’s place in the competitive automotive market.

Growing Backlog and Supply Chain Expansion

Despite the significant delivery milestone, Shangjie still faces a large backlog of orders for the H5. Efforts are underway to accelerate shipments with supplier partners to meet demand and reduce waiting times for customers.

With its rapid growth, the brand is positioning itself as a formidable player in the electric vehicle space, not only in China but on the global stage.
