Strengthening the UAE’s AI Ecosystem

The Abu Dhabi Centre for Intelligent Future will focus on developing an integrated AI ecosystem, supporting scientific research, advancing governance frameworks, and enhancing AI adoption across various sectors. It will work towards strengthening the infrastructure needed to support innovation and competitiveness in artificial intelligence on both a national and regional level.

Global Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

The centre will join the WEF’s network of Centres for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, offering a platform for decision-makers from governments, the private sector, civil society, and academia to come together. This collaboration will accelerate the exchange of knowledge and expertise, helping to shape the future of AI in global markets.

The centre will not only facilitate the development of AI technologies but also help create actionable policies and governance frameworks. This will enable countries and organizations to benefit from the advancements in AI, ensuring they remain competitive in the ever-evolving global landscape.

Enhanced Knowledge Cooperation

One of the key components of this partnership is the integration of the Abu Dhabi AI Centre into the WEF’s global AI communities. This will provide access to cutting-edge digital platforms and international networks, fostering greater knowledge exchange. Additionally, the centre’s professionals will participate in WEF fellowship programmes and contribute to joint research projects, enriching the global AI discourse.

A Vision for the Future

The signing of this landmark agreement was attended by high-profile figures, including Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, and Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum. They were joined by Larry Fink, interim Co-Chair of the Board of Trustees of the WEF and Chairman of BlackRock, who all underscored the importance of AI in shaping the future of industries globally.

The creation of this AI centre signals a commitment by Abu Dhabi and the UAE to stay at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, making significant strides in AI governance and innovation to strengthen the region’s competitiveness on the global stage.
