DP World has officially begun construction of ‘The Hive’, a cutting-edge innovation hub at the London Gateway Logistics Park. This project, valued at £13 million (approximately $17.4 million), is designed to foster skills development, innovation, and community engagement, marking a major investment in the Thames Freeport region.
The Hive: A Game-Changer for Thames Freeport
Once completed in March 2026, ‘The Hive’ will feature a variety of world-class facilities, including flexible meeting rooms, a training and innovation centre, a state-of-the-art gym, sports pitches, and food and drink options. This space will cater to local businesses, community members, and employees, offering over 100 days of skills training per year, benefiting around 1,125 trainees annually.
Supporting Economic Growth and Job Creation
The development of ‘The Hive’ comes as part of a broader initiative to attract global investment, create high-quality jobs, and provide training in future industries. DP World’s collaboration with Thames Freeport ensures that the area remains a hub for economic growth and innovation. The facility will play a pivotal role in supporting businesses within the London Gateway Logistics Park, the UK’s largest throughput container port.

Built by Goldbeck Construction, ‘The Hive’ will hold ‘A+’ EPC Rating and ‘Outstanding’ BREEAM certification, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of sustainability and energy efficiency.
