Google is bringing Gemini in Chrome to Android, turning the world’s most widely used mobile operating system into another major home for its increasingly capable AI assistant.
The feature allows Android users to ask Gemini questions about the webpage they are viewing, summarize lengthy articles, explain difficult subjects and perform other tasks without leaving Chrome. Google is rolling the feature out gradually, meaning it may not appear immediately for every eligible user.
It represents a significant step in Google’s broader effort to move Gemini beyond the traditional chatbot experience and make artificial intelligence part of everyday browsing.
Instead of opening a separate AI app, copying a link and asking questions about it, users can now interact with Gemini directly from the browser.

Who Can Use Gemini in Chrome on Android?
Gemini in Chrome is not yet universally available on Android.
Google’s current support documentation says the feature is being gradually released and remains limited to eligible users and supported regions.
For Android, Google currently lists several requirements.
Users need an Android device running Android 12 or later with at least 4GB of RAM. They must also be signed into Chrome, have an up-to-date version of the browser and use a supported language. The feature is unavailable in Incognito mode.
Google’s current availability page says Android access is limited to the United States and English, although broader availability could follow as the rollout continues.
Users also need to be at least 18 years old. Work or school accounts require an administrator to enable access.
How to Access Gemini in Chrome
For users who already have access, using Gemini is straightforward.
Open Chrome on an eligible Android device and tap “Ask Gemini.” The first time the feature is used, Chrome will present an opt-in process.
After that, users can type a question or request into the Gemini interface.
The current webpage is shared with Gemini by default so the assistant can understand the context of the request, but Google provides an option to stop sharing the page whenever the user wants.
If the feature does not appear, Google recommends making sure Chrome is updated and that the user is signed in. Because the rollout remains gradual, some otherwise eligible devices may still have to wait for access.
