Huawei 5A Network Arrives with HarmonyOS

The Huawei 5A network indicator will be activated through HarmonyOS 6.0.0.115, according to early details. Older devices currently display the legacy “G” symbol. After the new software ships, supported models will automatically show the new 5A icon. Huawei has not released the update yet, although the company confirmed that it is already under preparation.
Executives explained that the 5A network is not only a visual refresh. Instead, it represents a real technical improvement with faster speeds and reduced latency. Early testers using the Mate 80 series reported a smoother network experience, especially during video calls, cloud gaming and high-definition streaming.

The Mate 80 lineup is the first to come with HarmonyOS 6 pre-installed. It also became the first group of devices to support full 5A performance. Huawei’s leadership highlighted that the new network system marks the company’s official transition away from the non-G phase that followed long-standing restrictions.
The launch of HarmonyOS 6 brought many new functions. Dozens of smartphones, tablets and wearables have already joined the update cycle. Since most devices are still completing beta testing, the 5A indicator will likely arrive after the stable rollout is widely completed.

Huawei 5A Network Coming to More Devices

Huawei plans to push the Huawei 5A network upgrade to more phones once the HarmonyOS 6 rollout becomes stable across regions. Industry observers believe this improvement will significantly boost user confidence, especially in markets where high-speed connectivity remains essential.
The update also reflects Huawei’s continued effort to modernise its ecosystem with competitive features. With demand rising for faster mobile internet, the company aims to strengthen its position and ensure its smartphones remain future-ready.
