The latest Huawei Watch Update is rolling out to users in China, bringing meaningful improvements to health tracking and fitness monitoring. The update is arriving on the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2, which launched in late 2025 as a premium successor in Huawei’s rugged smartwatch lineup.
Huawei is now deploying HarmonyOS version 6.0.0.209, building on the previous December update. The most notable addition in this Huawei Watch Update is a new coronary heart disease risk research feature. Users in China can opt into a research program where the watch collects health data over three to four days and provides a personalized risk assessment. While Huawei has not disclosed the exact calculation method, the company advises users to consult medical professionals if potential risks are detected.
Huawei Watch Update Expands Activity and Accessibility Tracking
Beyond heart health, the Huawei Watch Update also introduces a new wheelchair activity tracking mode. This feature allows users to tailor activity goals and ring metrics through the Activity Tracking and Triple Ring settings. The addition reflects Huawei’s growing focus on accessibility and inclusive fitness tracking.
Cycling enthusiasts also benefit from this update. Outdoor Cycling now supports real-time simulated cadence, 3D distance compensation prompts, and bike-type selection. These enhancements aim to deliver more accurate performance data, especially during longer or technically demanding rides.
Skiing modes have also received attention in this Huawei Watch Update. Users can now view improved metrics such as maximum speed, average speed, slope gradient, and cumulative descent, offering a clearer picture of on-slope performance.
HarmonyOS Update Brings Cross-Device Convenience
Another practical addition in the Huawei Watch Update is expanded camera control. Users paired with Android smartphones can now remotely trigger and control their phone’s camera directly from the watch. This feature is particularly useful for group photos, outdoor activities, and hands-free shooting.
At this stage, HarmonyOS 6.0.0.209 is confirmed only for China. Huawei has not yet announced when the update will reach users in other regions, including Europe and other global markets.
Overall, this Huawei Watch Update reinforces the company’s push toward deeper health insights, broader activity support, and tighter device integration. As wearable technology continues to move toward proactive health monitoring, updates like this position Huawei’s flagship smartwatch as a serious contender in the premium health-focused wearable space.
