Qatar visa update

The latest Qatar visa update introduces longer stays and greater flexibility for GCC residents, marking a significant step in Qatar’s strategy to streamline entry procedures and support a growing calendar of major events. Announced ahead of a busy year filled with top-tier sports, cultural festivals, and entertainment showcases, the new rules aim to make travel easier and more accessible for regional visitors.

Starting November 30, 2025, GCC residents using the A2 Hayya GCC Resident Visa will be eligible for stays of up to two months and will enjoy multiple-entry access. This enhancement allows travellers to move freely in and out of Qatar during the entire events season. It is particularly beneficial for fans planning to attend the 2025 FIFA Arab Cup, as well as visitors exploring Qatar’s expanding cultural offerings.

Extended stay options under the Qatar visa update

The expanded stay period under the Qatar visa update supports visitors who want to participate in longer itineraries. It also helps those attending several events over different weeks. Qatar Tourism described the changes as part of a broader push to improve the visitor experience. Officials highlighted the goal of making arrivals smoother and minimizing wait times across all entry points.

Stronger mobility benefits under the Qatar visa update

With the new Qatar visa update, the Hayya Platform continues to function as the country’s central digital gateway for visas and event access. Saeed Al Kuwari, Director of Hayya, said the improvements signal a commitment to regional openness. He noted that the updated system will help increase visitor numbers, support the national economy, and reinforce Qatar’s reputation as a leading destination for tourism and international events.

Hayya categories streamlined for travellers

The Hayya Platform currently offers several visa categories to meet different traveller needs. These include the A1 Tourist Visa, the A2 GCC Resident Visa, the A3 Visa with ETA, the A4 Companion of GCC Citizen Visa, and the F1 Visa-Free option for US citizens. The platform is designed to simplify the application process and consolidate event-related access under one system. This approach helps Qatar maintain operational readiness during peak travel seasons and ensures visitors have a consistent, user-friendly experience.

Overall, the Qatar visa update strengthens the country’s tourism strategy by encouraging longer stays and easier mobility. The changes arrive at a time when regional travel demand is rising, giving Qatar a competitive edge as it prepares to host major global events in the coming year.
