The UAE Russia trade relationship is set for a major boost as Dubai prepares to host the first UAE–Russia Business Forum on December 10. The high-level event marks a new phase in bilateral economic cooperation, bringing together senior government officials, investors, tech leaders and industry influencers from both countries.
Organised by the Russia–UAE Business Council with support from the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Roscongress Foundation and the Marathon Investment Group, the forum coincides with the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation. It aims to unlock new opportunities across multiple sectors while strengthening existing partnerships.
UAE Russia Trade Relationship Enters New Phase
Economic ties between the UAE and Russia have expanded significantly in recent years, driven by shared ambitions in manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, digital technologies, and advanced industry. Joint projects are now emerging in both traditional and future-focused sectors, reflecting the growing strategic alignment.
Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov praised the UAE as one of Russia’s most important economic partners in the Middle East. He noted that the Business Forum demonstrates the countries’ shared commitment to building stronger investment flows and launching joint projects that support innovation and sustainable growth.
Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation, added that both nations are building a long-term cooperation model aligned with the global shift toward new economic centres, especially across the Global South.
UAE Russia Trade Forum to Highlight Innovation and Investment
The event will feature a series of high-profile sessions, including the plenary “Architecture of Long-Term Growth,” led by Alexander Vinokurov, Chairman of the Russia–UAE Business Council. The session will outline strategies for expanding cooperation and unlocking new investment channels.
Key figures expected to participate include UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Abu Dhabi Investment Office CEO Badr Al-Olama, and Gazprom-Media Holding CEO Alexander Zharov.
Another highlight is the “Russia–UAE Innovation Track,” showcasing the next wave of technological collaboration. Representatives from Skolkovo, VisionLabs, Innovation City and Magnit Tech will launch the first accelerator designed to help Russian tech companies scale within the UAE.
Investment Majlis and Future Trade Ecosystems
A dedicated Strategic Co-Investment Dialogue, hosted by Investment Majlis, will unite regional and international investors to explore new financing tools and the launch of a joint investment platform.
The forum will conclude with a session on shaping the future of trade and logistics, featuring leaders from RAKEZ and Grand Trade. Discussions will focus on creating efficient export corridors, enhancing multimodal logistics solutions and diversifying trade routes.
As the UAE and Russia continue to expand their economic footprint, the upcoming business forum represents a pivotal moment for advancing UAE Russia trade and accelerating cooperation in sectors shaping the next decade of global growth.
