UAE tourism growth

The UAE tourism sector is thriving, with hotel revenues reaching AED 44.4 billion ($12.1 billion) between January and November 2025. This impressive growth highlights the country’s strength as a global tourism destination, supported by robust infrastructure, competitive policies, and innovative initiatives. The rise in visitors and continued economic development showcases the UAE’s commitment to sustainable tourism and its strategic vision for long-term growth.

UAE Tourism Performance: 2025 Milestones
The UAE has continued to solidify its position as a top tourism hub, with 2025 marking a year of significant achievements. Hotel revenues saw a growth of 8.8% compared to the previous year, driven by an increase in the average daily rate. Additionally, the number of hotel guests grew by 5.2%, totaling around 29.1 million visitors. Hotel guest nights exceeded 99.4 million, up 6% from 2024. These figures underline the UAE’s enduring appeal to international travelers.

Sustainable Tourism in the UAE
The UAE government is placing a strong emphasis on sustainability, which is becoming a defining feature of the tourism sector. The country has developed innovative projects to ensure that tourism growth aligns with environmental goals. This commitment was showcased at the FITUR Madrid 2026 exhibition, where the UAE highlighted its initiatives and shared expertise on sustainable tourism policies.

Key Achievements and Future Goals
In 2025, the UAE’s tourism sector saw numerous accolades, further cementing its status on the global stage. One of the standout moments was the selection of Masfout as the Best Tourism Village in the World for 2025. Moreover, Al Ain was designated the Capital of Arab Tourism for 2026. These achievements reflect the UAE’s strategic efforts to enhance its tourism offerings and ensure long-term sustainability in the sector.

Strengthening Global Partnerships
The UAE’s participation in global tourism events, such as FITUR, has been pivotal in strengthening international partnerships. Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, highlighted the importance of collaborations with countries like Spain to broaden the tourism relationship, create investment opportunities, and foster cultural exchange. These international ties play a crucial role in positioning the UAE as a global leader in the tourism sector.

Continued Growth in 2026
The UAE tourism sector is set for even more success in 2026, with continued growth expected in hotel revenues and guest numbers. The focus will be on leveraging the UAE’s competitive edge in sustainable tourism and enhancing the visitor experience. The upcoming designations of Al Ain as the Capital of Arab Tourism and the ongoing developments in Abu Dhabi and Dubai further bolster the country’s tourism potential.
