Dubai is deepening its economic relationship with the Philippines as non-oil trade between the two regions reached AED 3.1 billion ($844 million) in 2024. The visit of First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos marked a significant step forward in bilateral trade and cooperation. During her visit to Dubai Chambers, discussions centered on expanding business opportunities and boosting trade between Dubai and the Philippines.
Expanding Bilateral Trade: Key Figures
The growth in trade relations was underscored by the impressive rise in the number of Philippine businesses joining the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. By the end of September 2025, 653 Philippine companies had registered, bringing the total number of active members to 2,508.
The Philippines’ expanding footprint in Dubai reflects the emirate’s growing reputation as a global business hub, with Dubai providing a strategic location, world-class infrastructure, and a business-friendly environment for Philippine companies seeking to expand regionally and internationally.
Strengthening Business Partnerships
Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, emphasized the importance of this visit in fostering stronger economic ties and creating fresh opportunities for collaboration between Dubai and the Philippines. He reiterated Dubai’s commitment to supporting Philippine businesses and helping them unlock new growth avenues by leveraging the emirate’s strategic position.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, also highlighted Dubai’s competitive advantages in supporting the expansion of bilateral trade.
The Role of Trade Missions and Forums
Building on the momentum, Dubai Chambers organized a trade mission to the Philippines, which facilitated 180 business meetings between companies from both regions. The mission aimed to explore cooperation opportunities, expand business relationships, and establish new cross-border partnerships. Additionally, the forum “Doing Business with the Philippines” in Manila attracted 314 participants, underscoring the growing interest in enhancing trade relations.
New Collaborations Ahead
The visit also resulted in a Memorandum of Understanding between the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This MOU is expected to further strengthen trade relations, improve collaboration, and open new doors for business opportunities between the two regions.
Looking Forward
As Dubai and the Philippines continue to build on their trade partnership, both countries are poised to take advantage of the region’s economic growth and business potential. The positive outlook for future collaborations is a testament to Dubai’s role as a global trade and investment hub.
