Huawei Technologies Co. has reached a significant milestone, with its self-developed HarmonyOS ecosystem now surpassing 32 million devices. This achievement was announced during the launch of Huawei’s nova 15 smartphone series, which includes the nova 15 Ultra and nova 15 Pro models.
HarmonyOS Ecosystem 32 Million Devices and Counting
He Gang, CEO of Huawei’s device business group, shared that HarmonyOS 5 and HarmonyOS 6, which power both Huawei’s devices and third-party products, have collectively reached this impressive number. This marks a key moment in the expansion of Huawei’s in-house operating system, which continues to grow in popularity and usage across various device categories.
A Stronger Competitor in the IoT Era
He Gang also highlighted the advantages that HarmonyOS holds over earlier operating systems like Android and iOS. With its distributed architecture and multi-device collaboration support, HarmonyOS is uniquely positioned for success in the Internet of Things (IoT) era. The platform’s openness is also a key factor, as it now supports over 2,000 partners spanning industries such as smart home, mobile office, smart travel, and health and fitness.
The Road Ahead for HarmonyOS
He Gang emphasized that the 32 million devices milestone is just the beginning for HarmonyOS. Huawei plans to increase research and development (R&D) investment and continue collaborating with its partners to expand the ecosystem and create greater value for global users. Huawei’s drive for innovation and a thriving HarmonyOS ecosystem will remain central to its strategy in the years to come.
