Taking screenshots on Windows PCs is a simple and handy way to capture important information from your screen. Whether you want to capture the entire screen, just a specific window, or a custom area, there are several quick and easy ways to do so on Windows 10, Windows 11, and Windows 8. In this guide, we will show you different methods, including keyboard shortcuts, the Snipping Tool, Xbox Game Bar, and more!
Method 1: Take a Quick Full-Screen Screenshot
Step 1: Go to the screen you want to capture.
Before you take the screenshot, make sure everything you want to capture is visible on the screen. Close any windows you don’t want to be included in the screenshot.
Step 2: Find the Print Screen key.
Locate the “Print Screen” (PrtSc) key on your keyboard, typically in the upper-right section. If your keyboard doesn’t have this key, use the Snipping Tool instead.
Step 3: Take your screenshot.
You have two options to capture your entire screen:
- Instantly save the screenshot: Press the Windows key + PrtSc keys together. The screenshot will be saved as a PNG file in the Screenshots folder under your Pictures folder.
