The Qijing wagon, a collaboration between Huawei and GAC, is nearing its debut in the Chinese market. As the first vehicle from the partnership, it has captured attention with its advanced features and sleek design. Recently, the car underwent rigorous winter testing in temperatures as low as -30°C, ensuring its readiness for the domestic market.
A Glimpse of the Qijing Wagon’s Design and Features
Unveiled in December 2025, the Qijing wagon, or “coupe shooting brake,” boasts a dynamic design with a streamlined body, sculpted rear fenders, and a low beltline. The vehicle is equipped with modern tech, including Huawei’s ADS 4 assisted driving system, offering L3-level automation. This makes it a contender in the high-tech automotive space, comparable to vehicles in the $140K price range.
During the winter tests, the Qijing wagon was subjected to 33 complex road conditions tests, with a special focus on cold-weather performance. The car’s handling capabilities were compared to those of higher-priced vehicles, promising an exciting driving experience even in harsh conditions.
Qijing Wagon’s Advanced Technology: A Glimpse Into the Future
Qijing Wagon Winter Tests,One of the standout features of the Qijing wagon is its LiDAR system, integrated with three sensors placed on the roof and front fenders. This cutting-edge technology powers the vehicle’s ADS 4 system, enhancing its ability to navigate with minimal human intervention, particularly in traffic jams. The Qijing wagon is poised to offer conditional automation, representing a significant leap in intelligent vehicle technology.
Sleek Design with Practical Enhancements
The Qijing’s design goes beyond aesthetics, with functional upgrades like active air intakes and air ducts for brake cooling, ensuring optimal performance. Its flush door handles comply with the latest regulatory standards in China, while the rear features a distinctive single taillight strip and roof spoiler.
Although still under wraps, the Qijing’s low ground clearance and air suspension system promise a smooth ride, even on challenging terrain. It’s expected to be an all-wheel-drive electric vehicle (EV), offering powerful performance and efficiency.
Qijing Wagon’s Price and Competition
The Qijing wagon is expected to be priced under 300,000 yuan ($43,100 USD), making it an affordable option compared to competitors in the same class. The Zeekr 7GT from Geely is anticipated to be its primary rival in the market.
What’s Next for Huawei and GAC’s Collaboration?
Huawei and GAC’s collaboration marks a significant step forward in the EV and tech industries. As they prepare to launch the Qijing wagon, they are setting new standards for innovation and performance in the automotive sector.
