Aito UAE exports are officially underway after the Chinese electric vehicle brand signed a distribution agreement with an Abu Dhabi-based automotive dealer, marking its first entry into the Middle East market.

Chinese automaker Seres Group confirmed that its premium electric brand Aito has partnered with Performance Plus Motors to handle sales, delivery, and after-sales services across the United Arab Emirates. The deal represents Aito’s first overseas export arrangement outside China.

Aito operates under Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance and has emerged as one of the fastest-growing electric vehicle brands in China. The move into the UAE comes as the company looks to diversify beyond China’s increasingly competitive EV market.

Under the agreement, Performance Plus Motors, a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Motors, will distribute Aito’s luxury intelligent vehicles locally. While no official launch timeline was disclosed, the companies confirmed that Aito vehicles have already arrived at Dubai’s port and that test drives for the flagship Aito 9 SUV have begun in the UAE.

Aito UAE exports are being positioned as a strategic gateway to broader regional expansion. Jason Wang, president of Seres’ overseas business unit, described the partnership as a key milestone in the brand’s global growth strategy, adding that the Middle East will support future entry into nearby markets.

The brand previously unveiled its global product lineup at the Munich motor show in late 2025, signaling clear ambitions beyond its home market. Until now, Aito vehicles had only been sold domestically in China.

Seres, headquartered in Chongqing, began exporting vehicles under its own brand in 2023. Industry data shows that just over 1,600 Seres-branded vehicles had been shipped overseas by November last year, highlighting the significance of Aito’s UAE entry.

Sales of Aito vehicles exceeded 420,000 units in 2025, making the brand the largest contributor to Seres’ overall performance. Total electric vehicle sales at Seres rose more than 10 percent during the year, underscoring Aito’s role in driving growth.

With rising demand for premium electric vehicles in the Gulf, analysts say Aito UAE exports could benefit from strong consumer interest, supportive infrastructure, and the region’s push toward smart mobility and clean transport solutions.
