du, the leading telecommunications provider in the UAE, has launched the country’s first tri-band Radio Remote Unit (RRU) solution using the 600MHz spectrum. The Innovation: Tri-Band 600MHz RRU for Better Connectivity
Developed in collaboration with Huawei, this tri-band RRU solution utilizes dynamic power sharing technology and multi-band capabilities specifically designed to enhance du’s 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and Voice over New Radio (VoNR) services. By overcoming challenges in traditionally weak indoor environments, the new technology provides unprecedented connectivity for users in hard-to-reach areas.
This innovation not only improves network coverage but also aligns with du’s sustainability goals. The RRU’s compact footprint and lightweight design enable more efficient deployments while consuming significantly less power than conventional solutions, minimizing the carbon footprint and contributing to environmental sustainability.
