Riyadh Air Huawei Partnership

Saudi Arabia’s new airline, Riyadh Air, has entered into a strategic partnership with Huawei to enhance its digital services, aiming to attract high-value Chinese travellers. This collaboration comes as part of Riyadh Air’s efforts to build itself as one of the most digitally advanced airlines globally, with commercial operations set to begin in early 2026.

Leveraging Huawei’s Tech to Enhance Traveller Experience

The partnership between Riyadh Air and Huawei focuses on integrating Huawei’s cloud, AI, and mobility solutions to create a personalized, data-driven experience for travellers. The collaboration will roll out in phases, initially focusing on China, with plans to expand into other key international markets. By utilizing Huawei’s vast ecosystem, the airline plans to engage Chinese travellers at every stage of their journey, from discovery to booking and beyond.

Riyadh Air’s partnership with Huawei taps into the tech giant’s influence in the Chinese market, where Huawei devices hold a significant share of the smartphone user base. With over 200 million users of Huawei devices in China, the airline will have a strong platform for tailored marketing campaigns and digital service localization.

Strengthening Saudi Arabia’s Tourism Growth

Vincent Coste, Chief Commercial Officer of Riyadh Air, highlighted the importance of the China market in Riyadh Air’s global expansion. “Our partnership with Huawei is key to delivering a digital, seamless, and personalized journey for Chinese travellers,” said Coste. The MoU will also leverage Saudi Arabia’s visa-free access for Chinese nationals, which is expected to drive growth in Chinese tourism to the kingdom.

Riyadh Air is already laying the groundwork for its future operations with daily services between Riyadh and London Heathrow, and plans to extend its network to major destinations like Dubai and India in the coming years. The airline aims to serve 100 destinations by 2030 with a fleet of 132 aircraft.
