LG Accessibility AI technologies are opening new possibilities for inclusive smart homes. The company has introduced a range of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things innovations designed to support people with visual, hearing and mobility challenges.

The new LG Accessibility AI solutions were presented at the 2026 CSUN Assistive Technology Conference in Anaheim. The initiative reflects LG’s broader goal of creating technology that improves independence and everyday living for people with disabilities.

LG Accessibility AI Powers Inclusive Smart Homes

LG Accessibility AI tools focus on making smart home systems easier to use for people with different accessibility needs. The company is combining AI-powered appliances with connected IoT devices to create a more supportive home environment.

These systems allow users to interact with appliances through voice guidance, visual notifications and simplified controls. The goal is to remove barriers that can make everyday tasks difficult.

LG says the technology forms part of its global environmental, social and governance strategy known as “Better Life for All.”

ThinQ ON Leads LG Accessibility AI Ecosystem

At the center of the LG Accessibility AI ecosystem is ThinQ ON, the company’s AI-powered smart home hub.

ThinQ ON allows users to control appliances through voice commands. It also provides spoken guidance that helps individuals with visual impairments operate home devices more easily.

For users with limited mobility, voice control removes the need to manually interact with appliance panels.

The system therefore enables people to manage household tasks more independently.

LG Accessibility AI Uses IoT Sensors for Visual Alerts

Another important feature of LG Accessibility AI involves IoT sensors that convert appliance sounds into visual signals.

When connected to the ThinQ ON hub, the sensors detect common household alerts such as doors opening or appliances completing cycles.

Instead of relying on audio notifications, the system transforms these signals into visual alerts using lights.

This technology can help individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing receive important home notifications without relying on sound.

LG Comfort Kit Simplifies Appliance Controls

LG Accessibility AI solutions also include the LG Comfort Kit, a set of accessories designed to make appliances easier to operate.

The Comfort Kit was developed in response to feedback from users who experience difficulties using standard appliance controls.

The accessories include improved handles that make it easier to open washing machine doors or detergent drawers. The kit also includes simplified control dials that require less strength to operate.

These small design improvements can significantly improve usability for individuals with limited hand strength or mobility challenges.

Accessible Kiosk Technology for Businesses

In addition to home solutions, LG is introducing an accessibility-focused kiosk designed for business environments.

The kiosk includes a range of assistive technologies such as screen-reader support and adjustable display height to accommodate wheelchair users.

It also integrates sign language video guidance to help people with hearing impairments navigate digital interfaces.

The device was developed in collaboration with Dot Inc., a company known for its braille display technology. The kiosk includes a tactile braille module and a unified interface designed to support multiple accessibility needs.

LG Accessibility AI Supports Global Inclusion Efforts

Beyond product development, LG is also working directly with disability communities to improve inclusive technology.

During the CSUN conference, the company will host sessions focused on accessible product design and AI-powered assistive technologies.

LG has also invited students from the Seoul School for the Deaf to attend the event as part of its first youth-focused accessibility initiative.

The program allows students to experience global accessibility innovations and share their experiences through digital media.

LG Accessibility AI demonstrates how emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and IoT can improve daily life for people with disabilities. By combining voice control, visual alerts and accessible design features, LG aims to create smart home environments that support independence and inclusion.

As accessibility becomes a growing priority in technology design, innovations like Accessibility AI could help shape the next generation of smart homes and connected devices.
