Samsung Solve for Tomorrow

Samsung Electronics Canada has officially launched its 11th annual Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest, inviting students from grades 6-12 to use STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) to develop real-world solutions for their communities. This initiative encourages hands-on learning and aims to fill the gap in STEM education across the country, where many classrooms lack the resources to effectively support students interested in these fields.

The Need for Stronger STEM Pathways

New research underscores a growing need for stronger STEM pathways for youth. While 98% of Canadians agree on the importance of STEM skills, only 40% believe schools are adequately equipped to prepare students for STEM careers. Many express concerns about a lack of resources and opportunities, particularly when it comes to hands-on learning experiences that spark student interest.

According to Tafari Jilany, Head of Corporate Marketing at Samsung Canada, “Solve for Tomorrow represents more than a program; it’s a catalyst for systemic change.” This initiative seeks to provide the necessary tools for students to explore, experiment, and contribute to building a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Contest Details and Prizes

The Samsung Solve for Tomorrow contest is designed to inspire diverse student participation and accelerate community-led problem solving. Schools in Canada can register to participate, with the official submission period opening on January 12, 2026.

Prizes for the competition include:

  • $5,000 E-Vouchers for the eight finalist schools to use towards Samsung technology.
  • The top three winning schools will receive E-Vouchers worth $50,000 (first place), $20,000 (second place), and $10,000 (third place).
  • Additionally, a $5,000 prize will be awarded to the Fan Favourite school.

Empowering the Next Generation of Innovators

Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow initiative has already reached over 40,000 students across Canada, offering more than $1 million in technology and grants to help empower future leaders. By integrating STEM education with real-world applications, Samsung is inspiring students to tackle challenges in their communities while preparing them for successful careers in STEM fields.

This contest not only highlights the importance of STEM education but also serves as a powerful reminder that hands-on, practical learning can spark creativity and innovation in youth.
